For my Holiday Hop project, I came up with a snowman door hanger. I had so much FUN making this!

Supplies used:

Snowman - 7gypsies paper, Martha Stewart border punch, burlap fabric, ribbon, bling, a button & twigs from my yard.

Background - chipboard diecuts (machine punched by Hubby & available at the Paper Secrets Shop), BasicGrey paper

misc. - red berry bunch (floral supply) & I think the metal Happy Holidays is by Joanns. I painted the back & edges with a Ranger Dabber (pearl)

Card Sketch Challenge

I got crafty this weekend!

Last year evrything was about having a new baby. Then school started so it was all about Cub Scouts & the PTA. Summer is here & even though the boys always keep me busy, I do have time to get crafty if I make the time. It used to be that I would pull all nighters, scrap in bed or even just work on projects 10 minutes a day until it was finished. I've been so overwhelmed that I just lost focus. I decided last week that enough is enough...lol! I got out the TV tray, picked a challenge & got down to business. 1st I worked on a card sketch which I later realized was for Paper Secrets' August Challenge. I can't share that yet so I used that as motive to start another. My 2nd card was made using the sketch posted for Paper Secrets' July Card Sketch challenge. Two cards was all I was able to complete through the weekend, but what counts is I completed 2 projects! Now let's see if I can pull off a layout this week. EEK!

So here is the sketch I used from the challenge...

I used some really old Crate Paper, a Martha Stewart border punch & ribbon, a Prima flower & my Tim Holtz/Sizzix label die.

Happy Mother's day to all my Mom readers. I hope you have a beautiful day! My boys are taking me out to my fave Mexican Restraunt & then I'm coming home to work on a layout.

I had a little bit of time to scrap yesterday for NSD & so I made a card for my Mom. I lifted this from a card I saw in one of Kaisercraft's catalogs but used some Glitz Design paper. I love the design & vintage feel.

I created this layout for one of the Birthday Bash challenges at Paper Secrets last month, This past weekend I was finally able to get some photos printed to finish it up. The challenge was to create a project using supplies starting with the letters found in PARTY. I used pins for P, alphabets for A, ribbon for R, tape for T & yarn for Y. To create the yarn flowers, I cut out some cardboard circles, added glue & then colied the yarn on top of the cardboard. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

We were asked to create birthday themed projects & also given a list of Bonnie's favorite things to play with.

For my 1st project I used skulls, hot pink, black, bling, flowers & glitter.

Then I decided to make a 2nd project with a more vintage feel using red, glitter, ribbon, distressing & flowers.

I'd also like to share a card I made a couple of weeks ago for my auntie's b-day. Crate Paper makes me OH SO HAPPY!

So this is what I've been up to along with a layout I will share next week.

Got Mud?

There are so many fun ways to make your own flowers but I never take the time to make them. I did a layout this week & decided to go for it. First, I stitched pleats into some narrow grosgrain ribbon then created a flower center. Next I did a loose handstitch along the edge of some wide ribbon & cinched it up to make my flower. The brown ribbon was actually tied around a set of pillows I got for Christmas. The pleated ribbon in the corner was what I had leftover from my flower center. I had a rough time with this layout since I was lacking paper options. I ended up using a sheet from this monster paper stack of My Mind's Eye that I bought several years ago. It was exactly what I was looking for. I mixed up some acrylic paints to match my flower & splatted in the corners to add a little texture. (this was Hubby's idea)

Congratulations Jessica!

Alot of you asked for instructions to make a mirror of your own & Tim has given me permission to share them with you.

What you will need:
a wood frame or mirror (I got mine from Ikea)
distress inks
grungeboard
fragment tiles
glossy accents
patterned paper
crackle paint
paint dabber

1.paint your mirror with the paint dabber (I used black)
2. apply crackle paint (I used Picket Fence & distressed with Old Paper Distress ink)
3. arrange your Fragment Tiles around your mirror
4. fill in empty spaces with pieces of Grungeboard
5. now you are ready to apply paper to the backside of each fragment. (I do just a few at a time to keep my arrangement in place)
6. apply glossy accents to the back of your fragments & then glue them down to your paper. Be sure to rub it around to get a nice even layer of glossy accents between your fragments & paper. (I used Tim's Seasonal Paper Pad) Use some sharp point scissors to cut around your fragment. I also take a sanding file to the backside edges.
7. Once you have all your fragments complete, you can ink your Grungeboard. (I used Barn Door & Peeled Paint)
8. Glue all your fragments & Grungeboard down with a nice strong glue. You can use your Glossy Accents or a liquid glue. (I use Beacon's 3in 1 glue)
9. Now just randomly apply a variety of embellishments to your Grungeboard pieces.

That's it! (I think) The mirrors are so much fun to make!!! Please let me know if I left out any steps or if you have any questions.

So I made these altered letters to share with you today.

Cover wooden letters with paper using multi-medium
sand extra paper from edges
apply embellishments

This was a super easy project to create. I used Jolee's embellishments & some hand cut Grungeboard to decorate my letters then used a staple gun to hold the letters together & some frame hooks on the back for hanging.

Then I decided to use my scraps & a wood frame to create this...

Rip scraps into pieces
Use multi-medium to adhere them to frame
Use sanding block to sand off the extra paper
apply embellishments.

I plan to put a photo in the frame but for now I added a fun little poem I found.

so he got busy with my Cuttlebug & all
his favorite crafty products to create this...

Weekend Projects

I had a late night date with my scraproom on Saturday

to make some cards in celebration of World Cardmaking Day.

This 1st card is a lift from Anabelle O'Malley . She's so crafty!

Dear Scrappy Friends,

I've been working on mulitple projects for a few weeks now but have finished a single thing. I just can't get it together! I got stumped on the 1st one so moved onto another. I got stumped there so I moved on again but still...no mojo. I've been trying to figure out what the problem is. Do I have something weighing on my shoulders? Am I tired? Do I need chocolate? Do I have too many supplies? Is my space too messy? Do I need to scrap with somebody? Is my Fung Shui off? Maybe thinking about it is only making it worse. So anyway scrappy friends, today is the day I hope my mojo comes back to me. I am about to start working on an altered project for the Paper Secrets Blog Haunt so I ask that you do your mojo dance for me today. Thank you!

Trimmer Talk

I have about 5 or 6 paper trimmers but have always loved my inexpensive Fiskars.

It's been good to me for the past 3-4 years.

I recently decided to upgrade & I am loving my new trimmer! This new one is a little wider so I don't have to extend the arm unless I am cutting larger than 6 inches. It also has a small wire that runs along the blade to help you see exactly where your blade will cut. The blade slides & cuts like butter.

So I am about to create a layout with my new love.

I just recently bought this woodgrain stamp after months of eyeballing it. I am soooooo in love with it. I think it worked really well with this technique.

Mojo Monday 144

EEEEK... I dropped my son off for his last day of Kindergarten on Thursday & realized I totally spaced on a gift for his teachers! It was 9am & I had until noon to get 2 gifts together. What to do!? I have the baby to take care of too. I ran to Lowe's to pick up some potted Gerbera Daisies. Now I have about 2 hours to make 2 cards. Thank god for Mojo Monday! I can always rely on them for a good card sketch. I got to work right away, totally stoked that the RoadShow collection from Fancy Pants I recently purchased matched the Gerbera Daisies I bought perfectly. With baby in my lap, I pulled it off with not a single minute to spare.

So here is the card I made for each of his teachers......

And here is a photo of them with their gifts. I put the cards in clear envelopes to stick in the flowers. They loved them & I was happy I got to get crafty.

It's A Miracle...

I scrapped today! Not for very long, but long enough to finish a layout I've been working on for 3 weeks. One day I printed my photos, another day I picked my paper & some possible embellies, the next day I got my design ideas going & started cutting, etc. Doing a layout like this throws me off & I always end up ripping things apart to make changes. Today I said enough is enough & finished it. This layout is for the May Supply Challenge at Paper Secrets. The challenge is to use your chipboard/Grungeboard. My stash of chipboard is rediculous! (okay, so my stash of everything is rediculous...lol) I was also pretty happy to be using one of my oldest paper collections. This is Granny's Kitchen from SEI & I'm pretty sure I got it in 2004 or 2005!

I've been working on lots of little projects around the house & this week I am working on my bedroom. It's something I started last year & just sort of stopped half way. I think spending too much money on a bedding set that I ended up not loving at all ruined it for me. It's time to start over & do it right. Today I am anxious for UPS to arrive with my new quilt from Pottery Barn! Check out what I bought....

Tomorrow I will buy some pretty new curtains & start my hunt for a new dresser.

Getting Back To Normal

I was more than excited to be feeling so much better this past week &

decided to celebrate by getting crafty while the baby was sleeping.

First I did this layout. I feel like it's not finished, so I'm going to stare at it for a few days. Hopefully I'll thing of what to add for the perfect finishing touches.

Hubby's Valentine's Card

I wasn't too sure about this card as I was making it, but now I kinda really like it.
Yesterday Shemaine showed me a beautiful card she made using micro beads.
I've had some micro beads for at least 3 years & have never used them!
So I decided to set them out on my table to remind me to use them.
(putting the things you really want to use right in your face works great.

You'd be surprised how quickly the perfect project to use them for comes along)
The paper is from Prima. (another item I have had forever)
I used Mojo Monday's card sketch #120. It's a great sketch to play with!

Another Christmas Gift Done

I'm really good at saying things the wrong way, using the wrong words or asking really off the wall questions. Hubby's response is always "Bless Your Heart!" I remind him each time that this is one of my qualities that makes him love me even more. For a couple of years now, he has been asking for a book to write these things down. It's taken me forever, but I made the time yesterday. I think this will be his favorite gift this year!

Tom make this, I just covered a standard composition book with paper & embellished.

My Latest Projects

I've somehow managed to find a little more craft time than usual this week. On Monday I was supposed to be spending my daily 20 minutes organizing but got distracted when I came across my new Graphic 45 paper. I totally spaced out & forgot their challenge this month is to make am ornament. Oh well, I actually ended up needing a card that night so it worked out perfectly.

Then I saw these on Teese's blog a few weeks ago & thought they were perfect family gifts, so I made a bunch of them yesterday. I cheated & didn't make mine shakers. I was so happy that my son decided to make it easy by putting the hat on & giving me a great selection of photos to choose from. He refuses to take a Santa photo for me!

I saw these cute little reindeer in the latest issue of Homemade.
I decided to make these for the Grandmas & myself. It was funny that after I saw them in the magazine, I went to my son's school & saw that his teacher already had the kids make them.

So to reward myself for actually getting the ornaments & reindeer heads done, I took a little time to do a layout. This is for the Paper Secrets December Scraplift Challenge. We are lifting an adorable layout by Melanie Blackburn. Get all the challenge details HERE.

The title of this layout aptly describes this class. It’s all about having fun and enjoying the process. It will be freestyle with lots of embellishments and photos. Plus, there will be NO PATTERNED PAPER at all, except for the cardstock which is meant to support the fabric layout.
The proceeds of this on-line class will go to the funds for the victims of "Ondoy" - the tropical storm that killed hundreds and left thousands of Filipino people homeless. A lot of children are suffering from lack of medication, basic supplies, and food. Please help these children and their families through this very difficult time in their lives.
The class will be taught via a blog which will go live on November 6. The blog can be accessed only by those who purchased the class. A detailed supply list will be emailed to you one week before the class goes live. We will also have a section in the blog where all the participants can share their work.

I Feel So Alive!

First I'd like to thank all of you for the super sweet comments on my post about Itty Bitty. I need as many people possible to "think pink" & prayers for good health are always needed. Aside from those nights full of WEIRD dreams & waking up every 2 hours, I am at that short stage where I almost don't even feel pregnant. I'm anxious to get to the stage where I can start to feel all of Itty Bitty's movement.

So yesterday my Mom came to take my son to Farmer's Market & Hubby was cleaning the house. Of course I had to take advantage & do some scrappin'!
I worked on this month's Prima sketch which is also a posted challenge for Prima Addicts at Scrapbooking & Crafting Friends. Once I started punching out all my little squares, I suddenly starting singing "I Feel So Alive" by Puddle of Mud. I started to wonder if Heaven smells like Beacon's 3in1 Glue...LOL. So here is my layout..........

Have you been wondering why I haven't really been scrapping, playing on the forums much or blogging? This is why.........

This is Itty Bitty. I am at 11 weeks now & all is well so far. Having a baby at 35 is not something I thought I would ever be doing! We are all very excited & hoping for a girl. Of course happy & healthy is our first hope. During weeks 4-7, I was sicker than I've ever been! My energy is starting to come back to me. This especially makes me happy so that I can spend some good quality time with my boy before he goes off to his first day of school. So I haven't forgotten about you all & I haven't hung up my paper trimmer. After next week, I'll have the mornings all to myself & will be a scrappin' fool....for about 6 months. Our due date is March 23rd, so I'm hoping that we will be able to schedule my C-Section for St. Patty's Day.
